Back to School-Photo 2

What a wonderful summer. I traveled, spent tons of time outdoors and enjoyed life. Did a little work on the side trying to put together some weekend photo classes (I'll keep you informed) and basically being a freebird for most of June and up to now.
The highlights of my summer included a short weekend trip to Tahoe, a short camping trip to Big Sur, several trips to SF with the most recent being the Richard Avedon exhibit at SF Moma!

I also reflected on what worked last year and what needed improved in Photo 2. Most advanced art students want to create truly individual work that is also compositionally and technically strong and they want direction with few boundaries. Some students want more of one area than another.

My summer reading included a re-read of sections of The Artists Way, by Julia Cameron as some essays on Photography by Dr. Terry Barrett, a highly published OSU Professor who has contributed greatly to the body of research in photographic education.

I am looking forward to this year with you, guiding you through your own artistic growth and helping my students continue to strengthen their art making in the darkroom and the lightroom.
